NürnbergMesse India is writing another chapter in its success story: Indian company ExpoNova Exhibitions & Conferences (India) Pvt. Ltd., a Joint Venture between NürnbergMesse, Indian publisher Colour Publications and German specialist publisher Vincentz Network, is taking over the HPCI from its German organiser SOFW, Verlag für chemische Industrie H. Ziolkowsky GmbH. NürnbergMesse India will continue to be responsible for the implementation of the HPCI. The Home and Personal Care Ingredients Exhibition and Conference India, or HPCI for short, is India's largest trade fair for household and personal care products. Peter Ottmann, CEO of NürnbergMesse Group, is delighted: “This is our fourth acquisition within a very short time following the successful takeover of the three woodworking fairs INDIAWOOD, DELHIWOOD and MUMBAIWOOD. It’s an industry that is performing extremely well. According to the Indian Beauty & Hygiene Association, the Indian market for cosmetics and personal care earned USD 8 billion in 2016. And the forecasts are also good, with an expected average annual growth of 5 to 6% for the period 2016 to 2021. Sales of home care products in the Indian market reached USD 5.68 billion in 2016 and are set to rise to USD 14.77 billion by 2020. This means that the conditions are ideal to enable HPCI to continue to grow.

New owner: ExpoNova

HPCI is already firmly rooted in India and has been taking place annually in Mumbai since 2010. The collaboration between ExpoNova Exhibitions & Conferences and the previous owner of HPCI, SOFW, Verlag für chemische Industrie H. Ziolkowsky GmbH, has been very successful in the past. Based in Thannhausen near Augsburg, the company publishes trade magazines on cosmetics, household and personal care products. Drawing on its 140 years of experience and international background, it also organises B2B trade fairs and conferences. The two companies signed an extensive cooperation agreement in 2014 and since 2015 have been the co-organisers of HPCI India. Through ExpoNova, NürnbergMesse India was also entrusted with the show management and implementation of the 2015 round of HPCI India. “The full integration of HPCI India into the portfolio of ExpoNova is a milestone for all partners, especially for NürnbergMesse India which has been organising HPCI India for years,” says Sonia Prashar, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India. “There is no doubt that this acquisition puts ExpoNova in a leading position, reinforcing its role as a specialist in chemical industry events. Extensive range in important markets

With HPCI in India and FCE Cosmetique in Brazil, NürnbergMesse Group now offers two events covering the manufacture of beauty, personal care and household cleaning products in key markets. FCE Cosmetique is the most important platform for the cosmetics sector in Latin America and the only trade fair to cover the entire cosmetics supply chain, from raw materials to equipment and packaging. Nowadays, consumers understand that health is becoming increasingly important in their daily routine. In relation to the manufacture of personal care products, HPCI India will continue to focus on consumers and their requirements,” says Prashar optimistically.
