- NürnbergConvention presents European excellence cluster of medical technology
- Nuremberg Metropolitan Region named the German government’s only digital health hub
- “Nuremberg cares for you” is about nurturing relationships between planners and providers
A stand that surprises, topic that impresses with astonishing superlatives, and a story that Nuremberg is showing in a new light: This is what NürnbergConvention will be presenting at the meetings exhibition IMEX in Frankfurt.
This year NürnbergConvention’s stand at IMEX is revolving around the topic of medicine. “Nuremberg cares for you” is also the message the Nuremberg-based company wants to share and is one that works in both directions: on the one hand, it indicates that medical events are in the best hands in Nuremberg, and on the other hand, it shows that personal component plays a key role at NürnbergConvention.
A mirror of real life
“Please take a seat; we’ll be right with you.” This is how many patients are greeted at their doctor’s surgery every day, and they trust that they will receive the best possible medical treatment.
Visitors will encounter this scenario at NürnbergConvention’s stand at this year’s IMEX too and they can be sure that they won’t just receive excellent care from NürnbergConvention at its IMEX doctor’s surgery, but also in real event life.
NürnbergConvention’s stand is like a cipher for what is premium quality in Nuremberg: the European excellence cluster Medical Valley Nuremberg Metropolitan Region, which has over 500 medical technology companies such as Siemens Healthineers and Novartis Deutschland, 100 institutes and university facilities, 65 hospitals, including the largest community hospital in Europe, and the largest hospital pharmacy in Germany. 850,000 patients are treated at these hospitals every year and the only other place in Germany that matches this figure is Charité in Berlin.
In 2017, the German government named Medical Valley the country’s only “digital health hub” along with the digital business incubator ZOLLHOF, which is an indication of how much work is being put into digitalization in the health sector in and around Nuremberg.
From 2019: premiere of Medtec Live in Nuremberg
In addition to the numerous renowned medical conferences at the NürnbergConvention Center and other meeting facilities in Nuremberg, NürnbergMesse recently announced it would be working in conjunction with UBM, the world’s second largest exhibition organizer, to put on a joint medical technology exhibition. UBM is moving its trade fair Medtech Europe to Nuremberg, which will be merged with the existing b2b specialist event MT-CONNECT to create a new event, Medtech Live, at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 2019.
Freshen-up for IMEX visitors
With so much attention given to medicine in its location, NürnbergConvention is starting its offensive “Nuremberg cares for you” at IMEX 2018 and, with a twinkle in its eye, is taking the opportunity to advertise its new multifunctional exhibition flagship, which has been planned and designed by the London-based Zaha Hadid Architects. The new hall is opening in November of this year and, for the time being, will give the new south wing a state-of-the-art finish as hall 3C. It isn’t just the site in Nuremberg that is receiving a freshen-up in functional architecture with the new all-rounder hall, which can only benefit event planners; visitors who go to the stand at IMEX can also experience this in a very personal way: Thanks to some special software, people can take an ageing test at NürnbergConvention’s doctor’s surgery (stand F 150) and take a peek into their own personal future. To ensure they get this future off to the best start possible, they will be able to have a freshen-up that includes the medically valuable vitamin 3 C if necessary. NürnbergConvention’s Sabina Linke is brimming with confidence and said, “Strengthened this way, every event in Nuremberg will be a success!”
NürnbergConvention is the congress brand for Nuremberg. Under the umbrella of NürnbergConvention, NürnbergMesse and the Nuremberg Tourist Board (Congress- und Tourismuszentrale Nürnberg – CTZ) market the city of Nuremberg as an ideal location for conferences, meetings and other events. The NürnbergConvention Center (NCC), which belongs to NürnbergMesse, has 12,800 spaces available in its NCC Mitte, NCC West and NCC Ost centres and the multifunctional Frankenhalle. All the NCCs and the Frankenhalle are directly connected to exhibition halls, which offer a total of 170,000 square metres and include new halls designed by Zaha Hadid (3C is currently under construction). The NürnbergConvention Bureau (NCB) run by NürnbergConvention offers event planners “service from a single source”.
