- NürnbergMesse China: a decade of success in the largest economy measured in purchasing power
- NürnbergMesse Group: tailor-made trade fair and exhibition concepts for sectors and technologies in the Middle Kingdom
- Future: further extension of the event portfolio in China
China is very attractive. Both as a nation of culture as well as a country, which – measured in terms of purchasing power – represents the fourth largest economy in the world. In keeping with this is also a dynamically growing trade fair and exhibition market in which NürnbergMesse China has successfully established itself in the last ten years. For Dr Roland Fleck, CEO of the NürnbergMesse Group and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Chinese subsidiary, a genuine success story: “A decade ago the motto was: “We have come to stay”. Today we can confirm: “We have stayed and very successfully too”. This is the best basis for further growth. ” What is decisive for Peter Ottmann as well as for Dr Fleck, CEO of the NürnbergMesse Group, is in particular the event portfolio: “We offer attractive international trade fairs and exhibitions – in Nuremberg, China and worldwide. We will further extend this competence and expertise together with our team assembled around Darren Guo in Shanghai, successively and in cooperation with partners. And in 2017, the “Year of the Rooster”, we will continue to move powerfully forward in China!”
As we know, the Chinese calendar allocates one of the 12 animal zodiac signs to each year – and 2017 will belong to the “Fire Rooster”. It is claimed to have attributes such as strength and masterfulness. Characteristics, which can also be applied to the first decade of NürnbergMesse China, the oldest international subsidiary of the Franconian exhibition company operating worldwide. Since 2007, NürnbergMesse China has been planning and organizing trade fairs, exhibitions and congresses, and in the process has aligned itself strongly to the content of the international trade fairs and exhibitions in Nuremberg. Therefore, events such as BIOFACH CHINA (25-27 May 2017), CHINA DIECASTING (19-21 July 2017), IPB (16-18 October 2017) or CHINA FOUNDRY CONGRESS & EXHIBITION (16-18 November 2017) mirror the corresponding leading fairs such as BIOFACH, EUROGUSS or POWTECH. They are adapted to the country-specific markets and requirements. As a result, within the framework of “Geo-Adapting”, new tailor-made trade fair and exhibition concepts are repeatedly being created for the respective geographic regions and markets: in this connection, in 2017, CRAFT BEER CHINA (17-19 May 2017) will be held for the second time and this year, GREENERY & LANDSCAPING CHINA (07-09 June 2017) will be celebrating its premiere.
Positive development – in China just like the exhibition centre at home
For Dr Roland Fleck, the development of NürnbergMesse China is exemplary: “After ten years, now in 2017, we will be welcoming more than 1,200 exhibitors and up to 60,000 trade visitors to our events in China. In the process, more than 26,000 square metres of net space will have been booked – three really impressive trade fair core figures, which graphically illustrate our successful China strategy.” At the same time however, the international trade fairs in Nuremberg are also benefiting from this development, as Peter Ottmann emphasizes: “At the exhibition centre at home, our Chinese customers occupy 2nd place in the exhibitor rankings, and in terms of visitors, last year we welcomed almost 6,000 Chinese guests as exhibitors and visitors here in Nuremberg – a new record figure!” In particular, Interzoo (350 exhibitors), the European Coatings Show (200) and Chillventa (100) are right at the top of the list of the Chinese exhibitors’ favourite events.
Praise for Darren Guo and the team
Within the framework of the event to mark the 10th anniversary of the founding of the subsidiary in Shanghai, both CEOs expressed their great praise for the team around Managing Director Darren Guo: “As a Chinese with Franconian roots, Darren Guo understands both sets of cultures perfectly and identifies himself 100 percent with our company. His entrepreneurial impetus provides us with momentum for the further corporate development in China and we are positive and optimistic that the ambitious objectives will also be reached with the committed team working here, said Dr Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann in agreement. Under the direction of Guo, new events, for example CRAFT BEER CHINA or GREENERY & LANDSCAPING CHINA, will be launching for the first time in 2017. The “Year of the Rooster” is thus a good omen for NürnbergMesse – and in 2018, the “Year of the Dog” will follow. In China positive characteristics are attributed to the animal such as loyalty, intelligence and persuasiveness. If those are not good prospects!
