- NürnbergMesse India celebrates 10th anniversary in New Delhi
- More than 70 exhibitions with 1 million visitors already held
- Commitment to sustainable development of trade fairs
NürnbergMesse India is celebrating its ten-year success story in New Delhi: Founded in April 2013, the subsidiary of NürnbergMesse has already staged over 70 events, welcomed around one million visitors and is now one of the leading exhibition companies on the subcontinent. With a steadily growing portfolio of currently 17 events, NürnbergMesse India contributes significantly to the success of numerous industries. "With its trade fairs in India's growth sectors, NürnbergMesse India offers highly interesting platforms for Indian and international companies to present themselves in the huge market," says Prof. Dr. Roland Fleck, CEO NürnbergMesse Group. NürnbergMesse laid the foundation stone in India with BIOFACH India, which was held for the first time in Mumbai in 2009 and is still held annually. "Our Indian subsidiary has grown with its success. Ten successful exhibition years on the subcontinent are the result of tailor-made exhibition formats geared to the needs of the respective industries," says Peter Ottmann, CEO of the NürnbergMesse Group. In the coming years, NürnbergMesse India will push the issue of sustainability. "With innovative exhibition concepts, we want to expand further and focus on sustainable technologies and the sustainable implementation of exhibitions," says Sonia Prashar, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India since its foundation.
NürnbergMesse took its first steps on the Indian market in 1992 with a pavilion for German companies at the Agrotech trade fair in Chandigarh, in northern India. Since then, NürnbergMesse has been represented on the subcontinent by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC). The next development step followed with the first BIOFACH India in 2009. After several successful implementations, NürnbergMesse founded its 100% subsidiary in India in 2013 with offices today in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. With the acquisition of "Wood Events" in 2018, NürnbergMesse India established itself among the most important exhibition companies on the subcontinent.
Today, with 49 employees, it organises a portfolio of 17 exhibitions and conferences for various industries, including organic food, wood processing technology, broadcasting and infotainment, mattresses and passive fire protection. Over the past decade, the company has organised more than 70 successful events in India, hosting around one million visitors.
"Our success story started with a handful of colleagues. Armed with a bold idea, a lot of determination and a large portion of trust from our parent company. Our vision for the future is clear: we will continue to innovate and build on our strengths to expand further. We want to create a company that is not only successful, but also sustainable and people-centred," says Managing Director Sonia Prashar.
Growth market India
India is one of the major growth markets in the global economy. Ease of doing business, improving infrastructure and incentives for manufacturing industries have boosted the development of Indian industry and led to a promising business environment. In the current fiscal year 2022-2023, India has recovered from the pandemic and returned to its pre-pandemic growth path.
Sustainability initiatives in India
Through various initiatives, the Indian government supports the development of sustainable production, for example through "Make in India", "Atmanirbhar Bharat" ("Independent India"), "Zero Defect & Zero Effect" and in the "National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture". In its G20 presidency, India is giving high priority to action against climate change with the slogan "One Earth, One Family, One Future". NürnbergMesse India wants to contribute to these initiatives with platforms for sustainable offers and technologies such as BIOFACH and the sustainable implementation of exhibitions.
