“Bollywood Supplier Expo”: 26 years of success and still counting
NürnbergMesse India to carry on concept with focus on greater international participation

German exhibition company NürnbergMesse Group has partnered with Broadcast India, the trade fair for the entertainment industry, with its subsidiary NürnbergMesse India. Peter Ottmann, CEO of the NürnbergMesse Group, und Sonia Prashar, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India, announced the deal at a press conference on the last day of the show. “Broadcast India is a show with a long tradition and impressive record,” explained Sonia Prashar. “We see further potential for the show to grow together with the industry it serves.”

Bollywood is booming: According to a study by The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and Deloitte, the Indian film industry will grow by eleven per cent by 2017. Broadcast India has successfully supported this industry for 26 years – and from next year, it will do so under the partnership of NürnbergMesse India. Ramesh and KavitaMeer, the founders of the trade show, specially picked NürnbergMesse as the new show partner: “We have known NürnbergMesse India and specifically Sonia Prashar for years and are certain that she and her team will carry on the long tradition of the show.” Ramesh and Kavita Meer will continue working alongside NürnbergMesse India and support and be part of the future editions of Broadcast India.

Fair showcases innovations for India and beyond
The 26th edition of Broadcast India took place from October 20th to 22nd in the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. Exhibitors displayed products and services aimed at the entertainment industry, ranging from cameras and satellite technology to visual effects software. This portfolio has earned Broadcast India the nickname “Bollywood Supplier Expo”. About 580companies showed innovations for this dynamic market over a total area of over 4,000 square meters. The show was accompanied by a two-day conference, where managers and technical experts shared insights into current trends and topics including streaming, management and video of Virtual Reality and resolutions of 4K and beyond.
