Security and safety times eight at NürnbergMesse

A portfolio with proven expertise in security and safety
Cyber security: it-sa attracts the greatest number of exhibitors worldwide
Spotlight on building security and fire protection at Perimeter Protection, FeuerTRUTZ and FIRE & SECURITY INDIA EXPO

NürnbergMesse has established and proven expertise in the fields of security and safety. It offers no less than eight trade fairs covering the various dimensions of security and safety – from cyber security to building security, fire protection and defence against drones to equipment for the police and official security agencies. For Dr Roland Fleck, CEO of NürnbergMesse Group, these topics are more current than ever: “We are living in very turbulent times and companies are seeking security solutions they can rely on. Through our security- and safety themed trade fairs we offer eight different takes on security and safety.” The thematic cluster of security and safety brings a total of 1,200 exhibitors and 30,000 trade visitors to events in Nuremberg and overseas every year. For example, a new international offshoot designed on the basis of the successful model in Nuremberg will be launched in Mumbai in May 2018: “it-sa India will reinforce the international pulling power of this successful trade fair format and encourage knowledge-sharing between global IT hot spots,” says Peter Ottmann, the Co-CEO of NürnbergMesse Group.

Where security and safety are affected, NürnbergMesse is an expert partner. And threats to our security can come from the skies, in the shape of unmanned, small and fast drones that can be misused to launch attacks. “Drones are a ubiquitous presence at our trade fairs. At U.T.SEC and Perimeter Protection, experts discuss the safe handling of this fascinating technology,” says Fleck. Innovations for more security and safety are also presented at it-sa – in Nuremberg, São Paulo and Mumbai –, at FeuerTRUTZ, Perimeter Protection, Enforce Tac, U.T.SEC and FIRE & SECURITY INDIA EXPO. The interest has been huge, with all security- and safety-themed events enjoying significant growth rates.

it-sa – the biggest cyber security fair in the world in terms of exhibitor numbers
At Europe's largest IT security trade fair, experts from all over the world discuss the latest developments from the IT security sector. With 630 exhibitors (up 28 % on the previous year) and close to 13,000 trade visitors (up 25 %) in 2017, it-sa is one of the three most important cyber security events worldwide alongside the RSA Conference in San Francisco and Infosecurity in London. It is supported by the BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security) and industry association Bitkom, which has extended its collaboration with NürnbergMesse for another three years. “Because it-sa is the ideal platform for advancing the cause of IT security Bitkom will continue to support it-sa in Nuremberg as its honorary sponsor,” said Bitkom Board Member Winfried Holz on signing the collaboration agreement at the event in 2017.

Premiere for it-sa India
IT security experts from India and the entire sub-continent will welcome the launch of it-sa India in May 2018. As a new international offshoot alongside it-sa Brasil, it will benefit from the successful concept of it-sa Nuremberg on which it is modelled. At the same time, it-sa India will address new thematic focus areas from the Asian market. “Thanks to our expertise and our collaboration with colleagues from NürnbergMesse India we have developed a concept that is a good fit for the market. Due to the close links within the it-sa product family we can contribute the kind of market and customer insights that the sector needs,” says Frank Venjakob, Executive Director of it-sa. The new trade fair is framed by a conference programme and a “Start-Up Zone” for India's new start-up scene. Digitalisation, IT security and the positive economic development in India have created the ideal conditions for launching the new it-sa India event. Premiere: 24 - 25 May 2018

Perimeter Protection – solutions for protecting buildings and land
How do you protect the grounds of commercial and industrial premises and public establishments from unauthorised access or even burglaries? How do you prevent sabotage of critical infrastructures like prisons, production facilities or power plants? The Perimeter Protection trade fair in Nuremberg explores these and many other security questions. At the accompanying Perimeter Protection Congress, experts discuss issue like the interaction of mechanical security systems such as doors, gates and fences with electronic components like surveillance cameras and sensors. For the first time, a special display area will be devoted to a new threat scenario from the skies. Systems to detect and defend against unmanned aerial vehicles are being deployed to prevent attacks, industrial espionage or smuggling by drones. Perimeter Protection 2018 is already registering a growth in exhibitors of 30 percent. Next round: 16 - 18 January 2018

FeuerTRUTZ – stopping fire in its tracks
For centuries, fire and flame have been a threat to people's worldly goods. Since 2011, NürnbergMesse has been working with the publisher to host the annual international trade fair FeuerTRUTZ, which is accompanied by a congress. “FeuerTRUTZ is the No. 1 platform for fire protection designers, regulatory authorities, builders, operators and certified experts to share their knowledge of fire protection measures. Our congress offers diverse opportunities for professional development and our trade fair is the preferred network for fire protection experts from all sectors,” says Ruhe.
