The trade fair for police special forces continues to grow
European Police Trainer Conference
Parallel event on drones
Enforce Tac, the international trade fair for command, control and operational equipment used by security agencies, is marking further substantial growth with its seventh edition. This annual event, now extending to three halls at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, will be held on 7-8 March 2018 and is once again under the patronage of Joachim Herrmann, Bavaria’s Minister for the Interior.
“The fact that the forthcoming edition of Enforce Tac will be about 20 percent larger than the previous event in 2017 shows, on the one hand, that police authorities around the world continue to need equipment and training to deal with growing threats,” says Thomas Preutenborbeck, director exhibition for Enforce Tac at NürnbergMesse. “And on the other, growth in commitment by exhibitors at Enforce Tac is equally constant, which proves the value of the event among its target audience – police, law enforcement, border protection, Customs, military police and the armed forces.”
Some 250 companies from all over the world will take advantage of the much larger exhibition area on the two days of the event to display both familiar products and new developments in the areas of service weapons and ammunition, ballistic accessories, optics and optronics, uniforms – e.g. stab-proof and bulletproof vests, shields and helmets – and vehicles. As a special fair for trade visitors from official agencies, Enforce Tac has strictly defined credentials for access, which must take the form of an official identity card or written confirmation from a security authority.
Theory and practice: the conference programme
The perfect complement to the highly specialised range of products and services offered by the exhibitors is the Enforce Tac conference programme: the European Police Trainer Conference (EPTC) of Polizeitrainer in Deutschland e.V. (Police Trainers in Germany, PiD) will again look at the latest subjects of interest, bringing together theory and practice, equipment and application.
The European Police Trainer Conference will this year feature lectures by international experts from Germany, the UK and USA, on subjects including anti-terror intervention, recognition of deviant behaviour, the use of fake suicide vests, overpowering techniques and preventing fatal injuries during arrests, methods for education and training under realistic conditions, legal and tactical aspects of the use of firearms, and the on-site use of analytical devices. The lecture topics provide the link between the products and services offered by the exhibitors at the trade fair and their practical application. On the second day of the trade fair, members of the security agencies will provide live training in the use of the latest tactical equipment. The detailed programme of EPTC 2018 may be consulted on-line at http://www.eng.polizeitrainer.de/eptk/
U.T.SEC 2018: using and defending against unmanned systems
Scenarios are changing all the time because of drones. They can be used in various ways to support deployed services, but also constitute a threat to security that makes the appropriate defence mechanisms essential. Both of these aspects will be the focus of the second U.T.SEC – Unmanned Technologies & Security Expo & Conference, which will take place in parallel and immediately adjacent to Enforce Tac at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg on 7-8 March 2018. Admission to U.T.SEC is free for holders of a trade visitor’s ticket for Enforce Tac.
